2024 GRANT RECIPIENTS
These projects vary from year to year but our goal is to encourage the development of local educational youth programs in our Traverse City community. This year a total of $6,000 was awarded to five different nonprofit organizations to help support them in their educational projects. This is another opportunity for our club to give back to our community. Janet Hickman, Chair, 6 members
​All club members are encouraged to submit grants in the Traverse City area pertaining to school projects, improvement of parks, environmental projects, and all nonprofits that are making a difference in promoting environmental responsibility in good stewardship in our community.
This year's grant award recipients:
--Tracey MacPherson, Great Lakes Children's Museum $1,000 for the development of children's educational programs
--Rachel Straughen, Grand Traverse Conservation District $1,000 for funding a native plant pollinator garden
--Sarah Kuschell, Grand Traverse Area Children's Garden $1,000 for two pollinator gardens at the entrance
--Emily Umbarger, Interlochen Academy $2,000 for the development of irrigation in the gardens
--Brian Matchett, Northwest Education Services FFA Chapter $1,000 for the National FFA Chapter Convention and the Michigan FFA Convention
